FTMO Enhances Crypto Trading: New Instruments and Better Spreads

Cryptocurrencies remain one of the most volatile and dynamic markets for active traders. While major names like Bitcoin and Ethereum continue to dominate, a growing number of altcoins are gaining momentum. This shift offers traders fresh opportunities beyond the usual names, especially as new tokens gain traction and liquidity.

What’s New in FTMO Crypto Trading

To help you benefit from these markets, FTMO is expanding its crypto offering with 22 new crypto pairs and structural updates. This upgrade enhances transparency, precision, and overall trading conditions for all traders focused on digital assets. Here’s what’s new:

1. Refined Contract Sizes and Volume Limits

Contract sizes and trade volumes have been adjusted to better reflect real-world standards, improving clarity and execution accuracy.

2. Introducing the New Spread Model

Starting Monday, 28 July 2025, we’re introducing a new spread pricing model for all existing and newly listed Crypto CFD symbols.

This update brings you:

Tighter spreads, especially under typical conditions
• Market-aligned pricing for greater transparency
• More consistent, competitive trading—especially during high liquidity hours

Whether you’re scalping fast moves or trading longer-term swings, this change is designed to give you cleaner entries and better pricing precision, particularly in periods of high liquidity.

3. New Crypto Symbols Listed

Explore the new lineup of 22 high-potential altcoins, from L1s like Solana and Avalanche to DeFi tokens such as AAVE and oracles like Chainlink. All are now available as spot-based crypto CFDs on all platforms.

5 Altcoins That Should Be on Your Trading Watchlist

In the following section, we’ll highlight five of these projects that stand out from a trader’s perspective. Whether due to their price action, strong fundamentals, or the trading potential they offer for crypto-focused strategies.

Solana (SOL)

Solana is one of the fastest and most scalable blockchain networks currently available. It offers low transaction fees and high throughput, which has made it a popular choice for developers building decentralised applications, NFTs, and DeFi platforms. For traders, SOL stands out thanks to its deep liquidity, consistent volatility, and strong adoption across both retail and institutional segments.

Binance Coin (BNB)

BNB is the native token of Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange. It is used for reducing trading fees and plays an essential role in the Binance Smart Chain ecosystem. BNB often reacts to regulatory developments and platform updates. Its price structure is typically clean and technically responsive, making it a solid choice for traders who rely on chart-based strategies.

Stellar (XLM)

Stellar was created to simplify cross-border payments and make financial services more accessible, particularly in underbanked regions. Despite being one of the older projects in the space, it continues to hold a strong position in blockchain-based payments. XLM often reacts to adoption trends and institutional announcements, making it appealing for traders who track macro sentiment and global payment narratives.

AAVE (AAVE)

AAVE is a leading DeFi protocol that allows users to lend, borrow, and earn interest on crypto assets without intermediaries. The token’s performance is closely linked to the activity within the DeFi space. AAVE tends to follow broader DeFi sector trends and interest rate sentiment, making it ideal for traders focused on fundamentals and cross-market correlation.

Chainlink (LINK)

Chainlink provides decentralised oracle solutions, enabling smart contracts to interact with real-world data. Its widespread integration across major blockchain ecosystems gives it solid foundational value and strong trading relevance. LINK is known for its sharp volatility, particularly around new partnership announcements.

When Do the Changes Go Live?

These updates will apply across all FTMO Challenges, Verifications, and FTMO Accounts starting Monday, 28 July 2025.

To prepare for this update, please ensure that all open crypto positions are closed by Friday, 25 July 2025. Any remaining crypto positions after this deadline will be automatically closed at the last available market price.
