Trader Emil – “When you are profitable already and have proper risk management there is nothing to worry about.”

What inspires you to pursue trading?

The freedom that trading is able to give you.

Not only the financial freedom to be able to afford whatever you want and do not worry about the price of anything or unexpected events that come along with big bills or something like that. But also the time you gain from it.

You don’t need to work many hours a day so that you can spend more time with family, friends, personal goals or just self-care 🙂

How would you rate your experience with FTMO?

So far my experience was good. Everything went down very quick and smooth. Also, client support was nice and helpful.

How did you manage your emotions when you were in a losing trade?

I tried to focus on my performance, not the numbers. If I lose a trade I try to create distance between the amount of money I lost and try to focus on the reason why my trade didn’t go my way so that I learn from it and take a better trade next time. Also just telling myself that everything is alright and that a lost trade doesnt mean that my chance of completing the challenge/ verification decreased over and over again helped me a lot.

What was more difficult than expected during your FTMO Challenge or Verification?

The whole verification process. I always thought that after the challenge you would just breeze through the verification. But I was so wrong. After I completed my challenge I noticed huge fears of losing the verification all of the sudden. I felt like there was so much on the line and created a lot of pressure all by myself.

Where have you learnt about FTMO?

I joined a group of traders after I bought a course and they were talking about FTMO a lot so I got curious and decided to find out more about FTMO.

What would you like to say to other traders that are attempting the FTMO Challenge?

When you are profitable already and have proper risk management there is nothing to worry about. When you only focus on taking good trades without hesitating nor rushing setups then its just a matter of time! Dont get stressed out by the time restriction or the profit target because that will only affect you negatively and decrease your odds! Believe in yourself and always keep a clear head and youre good to go.

Trader Lee – “Emotional trading shows a lack of belief in your strategy.”

How did you manage your emotions when you were in a losing trade?

I focus on belief. I know that if I place a trade according to my trading plan then I’ve done everything I can. It’s easier to remove emotion from trading when you trust in your plan and know that no matter what happens you did what you planned and over the long term that will bring the results. Emotional trading shows a lack of belief in your strategy

Has your psychology ever affected your trading plan?

Oh yes. Tough times in life can reflect in your trading. Experience in this helps you identify it before it becomes a problem. You learn that sometimes it’s not the right time to trade and step away. Good judgment is the result of experience and experience is the result of bad judgment

Do you have a trading plan in place, and do you follow it strictly?

I do and I do. I have my strategy which involves strict risk management. I risk the same amount per trade (0.5%) If you focus on the long term and not quick results you’ll succeed.

How did you eliminate the factor of luck in your trading?

I don’t gamble. That’s where luck comes into it. You remove luck by having a proven trading plan that you follow religiously. If you want luck go play the lottery

What inspires you to pursue trading?

I love the freedom it provides. I’m not anyone’s employee. I don’t have to answer to anyone. I don’t have to follow someone else’s plan for my life! The possibilities are endless for trading and I am looking forward to growing my account of the next few years.

What would you like to say to other traders that are attempting the FTMO Challenge?

Pass the free trial first. Test your strategy. Develop a water tight risk management plan. Then study it until you believe it. If you don’t believe every time you place a trade then you’ll second guess yourself which leads to stress which will lead to breaking your plan. Trading is simple but it’s not easy. You must understand that

Trader Victoria – “My goal is to have a full $300,000 account.”

Do you have a trading plan in place, and do you follow it strictly?

Yes

How did Maximum loss limits affect your trading style?

Maximum loss limits didn’t affect my trading style at all

What was the hardest obstacle on your trading journey?

The hardest obstacle on my trading journey was finding the proper place to learn with the proper mentor at first but once I found ICT, all has been well and I have been consistently profitable ever since.

What do you think is the key to long term success in trading?

There are many keys for long term success in trading but one that is very important to me is being able to eliminate all distractions that could potentially get in the way of your learning whether that’s social media, negative influences, Telegram chats etc. and focus on what you’re learning. Disregard what other traders are saying if it doesn’t fit your plan or your lifestyle, many people are pretending to be Forex traders out there but only 8% actually succeed so keep that in mind.

Do you plan to take another FTMO Challenge to manage even bigger capital?

Absolutely, my goal is to have a full $300,000 account

One piece of advice for people starting the FTMO Challenge now.

Take it slow. It is better to take the full 30 days to win than it is to lose it in 2 days.

Trader Cesar – “Life needs to be lived first.”

Describe your best trade.

My best trade has been quite different than any other trades I have daily performed on the markets, and it’s certainly the most important one of all my trades. It is related to the understanding that life needs to be lived first and since it is a line progression too the concept of trading the market lives in us just as life does … there are ups and down in life but all depends on our personal learning curve and what we are willing to do our part as human beings, for me personally, personal development has been the key factor here all that I am today it is due to the compounded effect of learning every day and apply it to life 🙂

Where have you learnt about FTMO?

How did you manage your emotions when you were in a losing trade?

It was hard and harsh at the same time at the beginning, then I notice that worry was there and I needed to tackled it one way or another, hence I decided to stop worrying and started using my time in a more optimal way, I started with my own family, I started doing more things at home – I even buy a my daughters a pet just for me to spent that worry time and be cured from it, I started to take care of it as it was actually mine xD. Helping others being present for others has just help me more from keep on worrying and breaking all the markets attached fears – that something that every trader has to deal with.

What was the hardest obstacle on your trading journey?

Look for a job first, but work hard on yourself than you do on your job!
