While trades on <strong data-start=\"5644\" data-end=\"5680\">US100.cash ended in overall loss<\/strong>, both <strong data-start=\"5687\" data-end=\"5745\">gold and Bitcoin generated the majority of the profits<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5901\" data-end=\"6091\">Long and short positions were almost evenly balanced, suggesting that the trader primarily reacted to <strong data-start=\"6003\" data-end=\"6091\">short-term price action and market momentum <\/strong>rather than long-term directional views.<\/p>\n<h3 data-section-id=\"ynq6u3\" data-start=\"6311\" data-end=\"6319\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-687121\" src=\"https:\/\/ftmo-frontend-prod.storage.googleapis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/09141933\/Charts.png\" alt=\"Charts\" width=\"1080\" height=\"827\" \/><\/h3>\n<p data-start=\"6321\" data-end=\"6386\">The <strong data-start=\"6325\" data-end=\"6343\">Open Time Hour<\/strong> chart reveals another interesting pattern. The trader achieved <strong>the strongest results during three periods:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"6514\" data-end=\"6598\">\n<li data-section-id=\"gwyp5l\" data-start=\"6514\" data-end=\"6539\">\n<p data-start=\"6516\" data-end=\"6539\">01:00 platform time<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"7yhg9n\" data-start=\"6540\" data-end=\"6565\">\n<p data-start=\"6542\" data-end=\"6565\">03:00 platform time<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-section-id=\"17ycisc\" data-start=\"6566\" data-end=\"6598\">\n<p data-start=\"6568\" data-end=\"6598\">around 16:00 platform time<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"6600\" data-end=\"6872\">The early hours likely correspond to <strong>higher activity in cryptocurrency markets<\/strong>, while the afternoon performance aligns with the London\u2013New York session overlap, a period known for <strong>high liquidity and volatility in assets like gold. <\/strong>Higher volatility during these periods often creates more opportunities for short-term strategies such as scalping.<\/p>\n<h2 data-section-id=\"1bhbkrb\" data-start=\"7009\" data-end=\"7031\">Case Study: Long on XAUUSD<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"438\" data-end=\"795\">The duration of individual trades suggests that the trader was <strong>primarily a scalper<\/strong>. However, when a trade developed strongly in the intended direction, as we can see in this example, the trader had no problem keeping the position open for several hours.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"797\" data-end=\"971\">One of the most interesting trades during this period was a long position on gold (XAUUSD) that remained open for more than five hours and produced a profit of <strong data-start=\"957\" data-end=\"970\">$9,019.59<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"973\" data-end=\"1173\">The entry came after the market formed <strong data-start=\"1012\" data-end=\"1031\">two higher lows<\/strong>, suggesting that buyers were gradually gaining control. This structure often indicates strengthening support and increasing bullish momentum.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1175\" data-end=\"1284\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-687120\" src=\"https:\/\/ftmo-frontend-prod.storage.googleapis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/09141931\/Case-Study_Long-on-XAUUSD.png\" alt=\"Case Study_Long on XAUUSD\" width=\"1080\" height=\"630\" \/><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1175\" data-end=\"1284\">The trader opened the position at <strong data-start=\"1209\" data-end=\"1220\">5,147.60<\/strong>, placing a <strong data-start=\"1232\" data-end=\"1253\">Stop Loss at 5,135.00<\/strong> near the support area. Shortly after entry, price briefly moved against the position, reaching a <strong data-start=\"1362\" data-end=\"1405\">Maximum Adverse Excursion (MAE) of 5,141.36<\/strong>, but the support held.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1430\" data-end=\"1662\">Once buyers stepped back in, gold began a strong intraday rally.
